National Service Training Programme PLKN Revived With New Approach

Training to Include Soft Skills and Patriotism

Only Those Born in 2007 or Later to be Called Up

The National Service Training Programme (PLKN), known locally as the Khidmat Negara (National Service), is set to be revived with a modernized training approach, the government announced today. The program, which was suspended in 2018, will now include a focus on soft skills development, patriotism, and community service.

Only Malaysian citizens born in 2007 or later will be called up for the revised PLKN program. The training will be conducted over a period of six months and will take place at various locations around the country.

The new PLKN program is designed to equip young Malaysians with the skills and values they need to succeed in the 21st century. The program will include modules on communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork. Participants will also receive training in basic first aid, disaster preparedness, and environmental conservation.
